Work Experience

Andoni Castillo
Andoni Castillo

My work bridges the gap between the colonial archives and the living memory of the Garifuna people.

I have combined years of fieldwork with writing and academic research to offer new perspectives on contemporary social dynamics, exploring themes such as identity, collective memory, and processes of cultural resistance in Afro-Indigenous communities. My work seeks to connect academic knowledge with the voices of the communities themselves, helping to make visible realities that often remain marginalized in official discourse.

Through rigorous research in libraries in London and Paris, and in dialogue with communities in Central America, I seek to decolonize the historical narrative and give voice back to those who have been silenced. This is an invitation to rethink our history from an endogenous perspective.
